Derek is interested in identifying the risk genes for psychiatric disorders, which will help uncover the biology of these complex disorders and in time lead to improved diagnostics, treatments and patient care.

Miss Rosa Spencer-Tansley
Rosa is an MRes student at Bournemouth University. She completed her BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences at Bournemouth University in 2014. She is particularly interested in the clinical application of genetic research, and is currently researching Psychiatric Genetic Counselling.
